Yesterday we arrived in the "Big Easy", New Orleans!
We had quite a long day-our flight left Rochester at 11am and we didn't get into New Orleans until after 5pm. By the time we got in, we took a cab to the hotel, checked in, and put Avery to bed. Gabe and I ordered ourselves some take out from Mother's then went to bed as well.
Today Gabe's conference started so the next few days Avery and I will be buddies! We hit up the breakfast at our hotel then we walked around a little by the hotel to explore the immediate area. Avery had her lunch-we didn't have anything for her to sit in so she stood at the table and ate lunch which worked out just fine!
After lunch we did some more walking-this time at the French Quarter and a teensy bit of Bourbon Street.
This is Jackson Square:
A funny sign on Bourbon Street "huge ass beers":

Had to prove it:
One thing I'll tell ya-it was hot as hell down there! We're talking 90+ degrees everyday with about 85% humidity. There was no looking pretty there at.all. As soon as you step outside, you are sweating. So when I say we walked for 1.5-2 hours everyday, you know what kind of troopers we are!
So, to beat the heat Avery and I stepped into some shops along the way to cool off and we got a sno-ball (their version of a sno-cone...I didn't see the difference). Soon after we got back to the hotel, Gabe met up with us at Gordon Biersch for dinner...which was very yummy!
